Prostitution

1)  You are a prostitute.  What factors might have contributed to you working as a hooker?  Under what conditions do you work? 

2)  You are a john.  What reasons might you give for frequenting brothels and paying prostitutes for sex? 

3)  Why have developed countries such as the UK and the Netherlands (in Amsterdam) passed various types of laws that permit prostitution?  What are the benefits to legalizing prostitution?  What are the disadvantages of and problems that result from legalizing prostitution? 

4)  Several European countries have passed laws or are considering laws making prostitution legal, but buying prostitution illegal.  What is the rationale behind this move?
